Pawlet Public Library Trustees Begin Director Search After Barnes' Departure. Lyndsi Barnes will not return as director of the Pawlet Public Library, following an extended dispute involving her termination in late 2023 and subsequent legal action. The board offered Barnes a chance to resume her post if she withdrew her lawsuit, but negotiations ended without resolution. Previous board members who opposed her return resigned amid ongoing disagreements. The trustees have now announced the start of a new search for a library director. Manchester to Host Inaugural Food and Wine Festival Over Memorial Day Weekend. Manchester will welcome its first annual Food and Wine Festival from May 22 to 24, showcasing Vermont’s culinary and beverage excellence. The event is organized by the Manchester Business Association and will conclude with a Grand Tasting at the Equinox Resort and Spa, featuring regional restaurants, wine seminars, and live entertainment. The festival also includes a self-guided walk and cheese tasting at Pawlet’s Woodlawn Creamery and an Art and Wine Lunch Walk at the Southern Vermont Arts Center.
