Construction Begins on Bridge Connecting Dryden Rail Trail Sections. Work has started on a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge spanning Route 13 in Dryden, as part of a $3.1 million initiative to link the east and west portions of the Dryden Rail Trail. Along with the bridge, a second bridge will be replaced and other trail enhancements are underway. Officials anticipate the project will conclude by late fall and emphasize the improvements are intended to increase safety and recreational opportunities. Two Residents Die in Groton Mobile Home Fire. A fire at Valley View Mobile Home Park in Groton early Friday morning resulted in the deaths of two residents, a man and his father. Emergency crews responded shortly after midnight to find the home fully ablaze and worked to extract the occupants, but both individuals ultimately succumbed to injuries. The incident required response from several local fire departments and the Tompkins County Sheriff's Department. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. Sabres Defeat Blue Jackets 5-0 at KeyBank Center. The Buffalo Sabres controlled the game from start to finish and shut out the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-0 at KeyBank Center. The Sabres dominated on both ends, preventing Columbus from scoring through all three periods. The game was attended by 19,070 fans.
