Former Cafe Worker in Rye Charged With Felony for $4,300 in Online Purchases. Rye police have charged a former employee of Milton Point Provisions, located on Milton Road, with grand larceny after discovering over $4,300 in unauthorized purchases on the cafe's Amazon account. The individual, a 37-year-old from Mamaroneck, was terminated from her job earlier in the year and allegedly used her prior access to the account to buy various items over a month-long period. The business owners detected irregular activity and notified police, leading to the arrest. The case proceeded in Rye City Court. Charles Thomas Varone, Longtime Pelham Manor Resident, Dies at 90. Charles Thomas Varone, a longtime resident of Pelham Manor who recently lived in New Rochelle, died on December 15, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in the Bronx in 1935, Varone built a lifelong commitment to his family and community, working first in printing and later establishing his own successful wallpaper and contracting business.
