Midlakes Music Teacher Publishes Research in Educational Journal. Chris McAfee, the Middle School Band Director at Midlakes, has published a peer-reviewed article in the Journal of Educational Thought alongside a Columbia University professor. The study examines how students transition between formal and informal learning environments, drawing on concepts informed by quantum mechanics. McAfee, who joined Midlakes in September 2025 and also coaches track and field, developed the research during his master’s program at Columbia. The article appears in the journal’s 58th volume.
