Firefighters Contain Second-Alarm Blaze at South Street Home in Weedsport. Firefighters from several Cayuga County departments responded to a second-alarm fire on South Street in Weedsport overnight. Multiple agencies, including Port Byron, Jordan, Sennett, Auburn, and Aurelius Fire, joined to control the blaze by conducting an exterior-only attack. All occupants safely evacuated the home and no injuries were reported by officials. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and crews remained on the scene for several hours.
