Chittenango Elementary Student Wins Annual Cuomo Karate Scholarship. A third-grade student from Bolivar Road Elementary School in Chittenango has been named this year's recipient of the Christian Cuomo Scholarship Fund. Nine-year-old Verrick Washco was recognized by Lawrence World Class Karate for showing notable character, dedication, and commitment to the martial art. Washco, who holds a brown/black belt, was chosen from among his peers for this annual honor. The award highlights young local talent and encouragement in karate practice.
