Lafayette Brewing Co. to Close After Over Three Decades Downtown. Lafayette Brewing Co., a fixture in downtown Lafayette for 32 years, will close its doors on December 20. The brewpub, opened in 1993 in a former furniture store, was one of Indiana's earliest pioneers in the craft brewing movement. Its owners, Greg and Nancy Emig, announced the decision, prompting patrons to revisit fond memories and fill tables at the Main Street location.
