Crash Near Marengo Hospitalizes Five After Driver Runs Stop Sign on Route 23. Five individuals, including a child, were taken to local hospitals after a two-vehicle collision at North Route 23 and River Road in unincorporated Marengo on Sunday morning. According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, a driver who failed to stop at a sign was cited in connection with the crash. The impact left one vehicle in the roadway and the other in a ditch, forcing the closure of the intersection while emergency crews responded.
