Woodstock Willie Predicts Early Spring at Annual Groundhog Days Event: At the annual Woodstock Groundhog Days celebration in Woodstock, the groundhog known as Woodstock Willie predicted an early arrival of spring after reportedly failing to see his shadow. The event drew thousands to Woodstock Square for festivities that included a 5K run, movie screenings, a chili cookoff, and guided tours of filming sites from the 'Groundhog Day' movie. Actor Steven Tobolowsky attended and participated in announcing the forecast. The tradition continues to attract large crowds and strong community interest.
