Mary Lou Young, Former Rye Community Volunteer, Dies at Age 96: Mary Lou Young, a longtime Rye resident and dedicated community volunteer, died on December 7, 2025, at the age of 96 in Vero Beach, Florida. Raised in Wilson, New York, and educated at Syracuse University, Young settled in Rye with her family in 1960. She played active roles in local organizations such as Christ’s Church, the Rye Garden Club, and the Twig Organization, and also served on the boards of United Hospital and The Osborn.
