State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Thruway in Clarkstown: New York State Police are investigating a fatal incident on the southbound side of Interstate 87 at Exit 14 in Clarkstown, Rockland County. Early Thursday morning, a 45-year-old Albany man exited his stopped vehicle on the acceleration lane and was struck by another car attempting to merge onto the highway. Emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene, while the second driver was hospitalized. The investigation is ongoing with oversight from the State Attorney General’s Office.
