Purdue Students Win Awards for Innovation in Moonshot Pitch Challenge: Purdue University students were recognized for their inventive ideas in the Moonshot Pitch Challenge finals held in West Lafayette. Four teams received a combined total of $5,500 for projects addressing topics such as building safety, interactive technology, oyster farming, and space exploration. Fifteen finalist teams were selected from over 45 applicants and had two minutes to present their concepts to the judges. Wabash CEO Brent Yeagy to Headline Purdue Presidential Lecture in November: Brent Yeagy, CEO of the Lafayette-based transportation manufacturer Wabash and a Purdue University alumnus, will speak at the next Presidential Lecture Series. The event is scheduled for November 6 at Purdue’s Convergence Center for Innovation and Collaboration. Yeagy will join Purdue President Mung Chiang to discuss collaboration between industry and higher education in advancing manufacturing innovation.
