Waukegan Man Faces Life Sentence After Conviction in 2020 Carjacking and Shooting: A 24-year-old man from Olympia Fields was found guilty of several charges, including attempted first-degree murder and aggravated vehicular hijacking, following a 2020 incident in Waukegan. The jury found that he shot and seriously injured a man while stealing his vehicle and also fired at a bystander. Prosecutors presented testimony over four days from law enforcement and expert witnesses. The conviction means he could now be sentenced to life in prison for his actions.
