Police officers arrived and reported finding a fully engulfed garage fire, according to Highland Park Fire Chief Joe Schrage. Schrage said Highland Park firefighters were already on two other emergency calls at the time the fire was dispatched. Glencoe firefighters arrived first and confirmed an active fire in the garage, which was attached to a single-family, two-story home. One of the residents was able to move their car out of the one-car garage before the fire grew further. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control before it was able to spread into the living area of the house. The two residents living at the home have been displaced and sought alternative living arrangements. No injuries were reported to any residents or firefighters.
