Former Santa Monica Doctor Sentenced for Unlawful Ketamine Distribution: A former Santa Monica physician has received a 30-month federal prison sentence for unlawfully providing ketamine to actor Matthew Perry and his assistant despite the known medical risks. Salvador Plasencia, 44, operated Malibu Canyon Urgent Care in Calabasas and admitted guilt to four counts of distributing the controlled substance. He also surrendered his California medical license and was fined $5,600 by a U.S. District Judge. The court cited his awareness of the drug's dangers and its inappropriate use.
