California Expands Drinking Water Supply with Major Infrastructure Projects: California has increased its annual drinking water supply by an estimated 2.9 billion gallons following the launch or completion of eight infrastructure projects across the state. Supported by approximately $590 million in grants and low-interest loans, these efforts include upgrades to wastewater treatment, implementation of recycled water systems, and new desalination facilities. The projects, serving regions from Orange County to the Bay Area and the Sierra, are designed to address water reliability and system modernization.
